About FND2 Concrete
Foundation concrete (also commonly referred to as FND) is a type of concrete that meets the British standard BS 8500.
FND2 is a specialist type of foundation grade concrete, containing sulphate-resistant cement.
It is designed to be used in DC-2 soils. These are ground conditions where there is a moderate sulphate risk in the soil (or where other chemical compounds that commonly affect concrete are present) and where the soil is mildly aggressive to concrete.
As the concrete has a strength of ~30 N/mm² at 28 days, FND2 concrete is a dependable “standard” foundation concrete.
