What is Cement Bound Sand (CBS)?
CBS is a specialist construction material, which combines sand and cement, typically at a ratio of 14:1.
This achieves a flexible and durable semi-rigid material, which can be use for a huge variety of construction projects.
CBS differs from other concrete varieties in its use of a higher proportion of sand, with a lower proportion of concrete. This alternative ratio gives CBS concrete greater workability and flexibility (for a longer period of time), which allows it to be compacted and shaped more easily.
It is also designed to retain some flexibility over time (unlike conventional concrete, which fully hardens once set). As a result, it is ideally suited for projects where some slight movement in the concrete is advantageous.
